Volleyball Trip to Barbados
Scott received an FIVB assignment as a neutral referee for the 2010 FIVB World Championship - 2nd Round (women). All teams/matches were part of the Caribbean Federation. Most of the referees were also from that area.
Scott was first referee for 3 matches and second referee for 1 match. He was fortunate to be assigned for the semi-final (Bahamas versus Jamacia) that lasted 5 sets and under 2.5 hours. Scott was also assigned the final match as first referee - Barbados versus Jamacia. It was also 5 sets; over 2.5 hours; in front of almost 3,000 fans.
The city of Bridgetown and the area reminded Scott of the adventure in Kenya. The sun, sand and people were very similar to that of Mombasa. We also travelled to Harrison Caves - a crystallized limestone cavern.
It was a great trip to lead to the summer.
