Kilifi Day Trip

During the half-term break, there was an unusual amount of rain that flooded parts of the road in and out of Mombasa. It also made driving poor in the city. One day we went to an area called Kilifi, approximately 60 minutes away from Mombasa. We stopped at a hotel in the area that looked over a creek and the ocean – beautiful setting!

It was an over cast day and was raining as well. Some of the land and houses we drove by were under water. The road in spots was water soaked but passable. We were not worried with our 1993 Toyota Corolla Estate Wagon (well maybe just a bit at times).
