Fort Joseph/Fort Jesus

Exploring around Mombasa during the holiday break found us at Fort Joseph a hidden public site that holds remains of war buildings – for ammunition as well as a sentry posts as this location is a great lookout for ships coming to either of the channels. It was fun for us to also explore the caves that lead out to sea. It was hypothesized that the Portuguese used these caves, which also connects with Fort Jesus; for a passage of food, weapons and slaves for the soldiers.
