KCSE Exams

The Kenyan system of education is refereed to as 8-4-4 (8 years of primary education; 4 years of secondary education that leads to a KCSE Kenyan Certificate of Secondary Education and 4 years of college/university.

At the Academy, the school offers a IB Program and therefore the KCSE was completed for the last time in 2006. Students typically attend classes and tuition over the winter months (July/August) and prepare for their exams that end in December.

The Kenya National Exam Council provides standardized tests throughout the state and the climate is very serious. Exams are invigilated by state personnel as well as a security by a Kenya Police constable.

First School Term Ends

The first term was a very busy academic year with plenty of academic and social activities. The children as well as Brenda and Scott settled well into their second year. The children were busy with many of their after-school clubs (Junior School) and CAS – Community Action Service Activities (Senior SchoolJordan). Brenda coached Rounders for the first time and Scott was very busy with career counselling. Pictures are of Kyle’s (Solar System) and Ty’s (Palnt Growth) end of unit celebrations. Tait completed a group project on the diffderent Religions and the world as well as the theme of tolerance. The last day ened with a full-school assembly.
