Family Day Weekend

Great weekend - great friends. The Courtneys from Saskatoon joined the McLeans for the long-weekend in February at Fairmount in British Columbia. The focus was FUN, FRIENDS and SKIING. For three days thr families went skiing/snowboarding to Panorama Mountain Village. Although the McLeans have been off the snow for over three years, the children took to it again very quickly. The Courtney children challenged the McLeans - the result was lots of exciting times. The nicknames for the familes were as followed - Courtney children (Liam - 'Tarzan'; Jackson - 'Head Slide', Quinn - 'Twinkle Toes'; Courtney adults (John - 'One More Run', Lesley - '25 cents in the swear jar!). McLean children (Jordan - 'Scrapper', Tait - 'Face Plant', Kyle - '180 degrees', Ty - 'Backwards Pizza') McLean adults - (Brenda - 'Chef Jamina', Scott - 'Princess Kokanee').
This sounds like it will become an annual!

Toboganning/Snowboarding Weekend

Back in snowy Canada, a weekend of outside fun!

Jordan Secures a Job

Jordan, recently arrived from Kenya, had focused his efforts on looking for a job. Although three months before his 14th birthday, Jordan went job seeking. He completed an application, had an interview, was hired and started work all in less than 10 days.

Marble Slab Creamery - Market Mall. This is a franchise that stated operation in 1983. The ice cream is homemade and the fresh baked waffle cones are made daily in each store. They also have the 'mixins', which includes fruits, nuts, candies and cookies. After choosing the ice cream, it is scooped and placed on a frozen marble slab where the customer chooses the mixins. It is then blended and piled high on the waffle cone. As the company slogan states, " It's a special ice cream cone that's made just the way you like it, just when you want it. Welcome to the world of freshness".

First Flames Game in Five Years

Jordan and Scott were very excited to get some Flames tickets from some friends. It has been over five years since the McLeans were at a Flames game. Flames won the game against San Jose Sharks 5-4. The first star was Owlen Nolan who scored a 'hatrick' on the night.
