Tait Joins the Safety Patrol

Although Tait has been at the new school for under 2 weeks, she expressed an interest to join the St. Vincent de Paul Safety Patrols. Her teacher was pleased with her enthusiasm and has put her on the rotation twice per week. Tait was very excited. Unfortunately, she joins the team in January as the tempature drops.

The McLeans are Canadian

The unrest and violence in Kenya has become a very difficult and sad sitaution for the people of Kenya and the country in general. As a family, decisions also were required as not to expose our children and family to traumatic events in Africa. Brenda did not return to Kenya and Scott travelled from Egypt to Canada rather than the trip back to Kenya. We are very blessed to have the Canadian passports, financial resources and support from family and friends to deceide not to return to Kenya during this time period. Attached are some pictures of the Rocky Mountains and the City of Calgary as Kyle, Jordan and Scott landed in Canada.

The children have been enrolled in school - St. Vincient de Paul. We were very fortunate that all four children will be able to attend the school. There are a few main differences - no uniform at the school; the school day is is about 1.5 hours shorter and the children are 'bundling up' for the cooler temperatures (there has been a couple of days in January that are approximately 45 degrees difference). We have enjoyed some of the winter activities. Ty has also had skating lessons at the school in his first full week at school.
