Pet-Expo

Ty, Tait and Scott attended the Pet-Expo at the Big 4 Building on the Stampede grounds. There were many exhibts as well as many animals to see and touch. Ty really liked the kanagroo and Tait loved to see the dogs in 'action' performing all their tricks.

Jordan is 14 Years Old

Jordan turned 14 and wanted a low-key birthday. We had different family celebrations!

African Children's Choir

The African Children’s Choir was touring North America and performed at the Central United Church in Calgary. We offered to be a host home for two of the singers. We were blessed to have Enock (10 years old from Uganda) and Jacob (8 years old Kenya – near Mombasa). When they grow up, they want to be a pilot and president respectively. Although it was a short stay and visit, we went swimming and were able to share our experiences from African especially are photo albums and stories. The boys said they missed Africa as they have been in North America for the past six months. There were approximately 26 children (boys and girls) in the choir ranging from 8-12 years of age. This year marks the 23rd year of ‘bridging cultural gaps and bringing hope and joy to audiences around the world.’ This organization, started in 1984, has been very beneficial to Africa’s vulnerable children. They continue to provide education to approximately 7000 children.

Helping Africa’s most vulnerable children today, so they can help Africa tomorrow.

Tait Travels in Style

Tait celebrated a friend’s birthday (Chlowie’s 12th year) in style as she was pick-up in a limousine and travelled the city before going to a movie. The party also included a sleepover. Great fun for the girls!

Edmonton Trip

Scott is completing a contract with the Alberta College of Social Workers – developing a manual outlining the procedures and standards for social work diploma institutions in obtaining an approval/re-approval status. Scott had a meeting in Edmonton with the committee to review the contract and to establish deadlines. Tait was excited to accompany Scott on the trip. They spent a day at West Edmonton Mall – at the water park as well as shopping in the mall.

Spring Break (Easter)

The McLeans travelled during spring break and celebrated Easter in Fairmont BC. As the children really enjoy being back in winter /snow, we ski throughout the week. We also met some friends on the hill and in the hot tub. We enjoyed swimming, wallyeball, sitting by the fire and relaxing. The Easter Bunny also made it into BC.

Kyle Turns 10

Kyle celebrated his birthday on a few occasions leading up to March 14th. This was his first birthday back in Canada for the past two years. His birthday bash occurred at the Calgary Winter Club (bowling, basketball and swimming). Kyle, his friends and his family had fun participating in the different sporting activities.
